Galatasaray, foreign transfers by securing Tanguy Ndombele and Davinson Sanchez has now turned its attention to finding domestic players for the right-back and midfield positions… The first name considered for the right-back position was Ömer Ali Şahiner, and Galatasaray’s management reached out to his club, Başakşehir, to inquire about the financial terms. However, the transfer was definitively abandoned after coach Okan Buruk vetoed the idea of signing Şahiner. It has been reported that Galatasaray is in contact with some domestic right-backs who play in the Süper Lig.
As for the midfield, Berkay Özcan, a national player for Başakşehir, is the top candidate. With a market value of 4.4 million Euros, the 25-year-old player could be transferred in a swap deal plus a certain amount of money. Another name under consideration is Okay Yokuşlu, who currently plays for West Bromwich Albion in the English Championship. The 29-year-old player, valued at 3 million Euros, is a key figure for the English team and has already played in 6 matches this season, after scoring 4 goals in 41 matches last season.
